Weight loss and lack of energy don’t go well together and still, we manage to live our lives, caring for our families, day after day. Having a child changes your life completely. Of course, you don’t need to be a parent to put on some extra pounds or more. There are just so many things that we have to deal with in our lives, that we resort to emotional eating. Maybe we are dealing with an illness or hormonal imbalance. The biggest problem with extra weight is not necessarily the larger sizes we need to look at when buying clothes – but the way we see ourselves when we look into the mirror.
What’s the secret to losing weight?
There’s no real secret here. There are just some facts that no one tells you about or that are explained in an intricate manner so that no one actually understands what is what.
Weight loss is actually a simple matter.
Here’s what you need to do to turn your life around and smile every single time you look into the mirror:
- Forget about fad diets.
Even if many of us don’t admit this, we all reach for our phones and search on Google for the latest famous person that has lost weight. How did she do it? What miraculous diet did she find? How did she manage to lose 20-30 pounds in a few weeks? Let’s be honest. First of all, famous people have an entire team to back up their weight loss efforts: chefs, nutritionists, doctors, personal trainers, etc. Second of all, losing a lot of weight fast is the worst thing you could do to your body.
Yes, you want to get in your favorite pair of jeans that you wore in high-school and you want to be able to do it in a few weeks. But, just think about the toxins and dramatic changes you are making your body go through. Do you think it will fight back? Oh, yes it will! You will have crazy food cravings, will have some interesting thoughts that convince you to give up your diet and might even feel sick.
- Eat right.
“Does this mean that I need to eat salads? I don’t like salads! Yuck. Healthy food tastes like grass” Yep, we’ve all been there. But, healthy food does not have to taste awful. You will most probably need a few days to adjust to eating real food rather than supermarket snacks (chips, sweets and so on), fast food and everything that you can fry in a pan.
The best diet is the one that you can stick to for the rest of your life. Let’s face it. When you follow a diet and then you stop, the extra pounds pile up again. Now, this is something serious that most probably, not too many nutritionists or health professionals tell you about. Yes, everyone says that you have to drink more water every day.
